Manx Grand Prix, Isle of Man, August 22-September 4 2009

RTD runners Phillip Shaw and Jonathan Cutts competed in this years event.

Both using EMX-04 CDI units on their Suzuki T20 bikes.

Lightweight Classic race:

International Superkart Series, Hockenheim, 21 - 22 August 2009

The final race meeting of the International Superkart series at Hockenheim saw the podium dominated by RTD runners over the two races with Dave Harvey taking the win in race 2 and a 3rd place in race 1.

Robert Chilcott was 2nd in race 1 and 3rd in race 2.  Marcel Maasmann was 5th in race 1 and 2nd in race 2.

Robert Chilcott was the overall championship winner with 101 points from Dave Harvey in 2nd with 85 points and Vesa Lethinen in 3rd on 65 points.  A clean sweep of the podium places for the RTD runners.

Mixed results for the RTD runners with Malcolm Crowe just missing out on a podium in race 1 but Carl Hulme did place 3rd in race 2 with John Riley getting 4th.

125 GP Championship, Brands Hatch, 7 - 9 August 2009

In the first practice session Edward Rendell topped the times on a damp track.

Session 2 with a dry track saw the Aztec bike in third place.

Q1 had Edward placed 4th with a time of 1:35.679, 0.215 secs off the fastest time.

Q2 saw no improvement in times so the Aztec bike ended up 5th and just missing out on the front row of the grid.

On race day a crash for Edward at the start of warm-up mean't the bike had to be completely rebuilt.  This mean't that the bike's performance wasn't going to be the same as the previous day and the team had to settle for 7th place when it could possibly have been a first podium finish.

Better luck at Cadwell Park at the end of August.

MSA British Super Kart Championship, Donnington Park, 1 - 2 August 2009

Dave Harvey, Carl Hulme and Malcolm Crowe qualified in 2nd, 4th and 5th respectively.

Race 1:

Malcolm Crowe took 3rd place followed by Dave Harvey in 4th and Steve Briggs in 12th.  Carl Hulme did not finish.

Race 2:

Carl Hulme won with Dave Harvey in 4th place.  Malcolm Crowe and Steve Briggs were non-finishers.

All the RTD runners are using EMX-04 CDI ECUs.

Thundersport GP3, Donnington Park, 25 July 2009

The Cougar RS125 uses the RTD EMX-04 CDI ECU.

F2 Sidecar GP, Donnington Park, 25 July 2009

Bill Currie took 9th place in a field of 27 runners with his Yamaha YZF-R6 (2006) powered unit using the RTD EMX-01 ECU.

His time was 27:04.960 with a best lap of 1:46.033.

MSA British Super Kart Grand Prix, Cadwell Park, 17 - 19 July 2009 

Division 1 Super Kart GP:

RTD runners Carl Hulme, Malcolm Crowe and Lee Harpham took 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively.

Dave Harvey, Gary Parkes and Robert Chilcott were non-finishers.  Steve Briggs did not start.

Formula 125 Open:

Ben Willshire was 6th in both heats and finshed in 9th place in the Grand Prix.

All the RTD runners are using EMX-04 CDI ECUs.

National Karts, Darley Moor, 21 June 2009

Ben Wilshire got 4th and 5th place at Darley Moor in his SGM Anderson kart using the EMX-04 CDI ECU.

Race 1:

4th place in a time of 10:33.11, best lap of 1:02.55 (86.33 mph).

Race 2:

5th place in a time of 10:32.71, best lap of 1:02.40 (86.54 mph).

125 GP Championship, Snetterton, 19 - 21 June 2009

Edward Rendell and the Aztec GP team were competing at Snetterton using the RTD EMX-04 CDI ECU.

Sucessively improved times during practice resulted in a 14th place in Q1.

A downpour during Q2 meant that the Q1 times pretty much decided the grid order for the top 20.

A bad first lap meant more work for Edward as he eventually clawed his way back to 14th by the end of the race.
